Embedded SIP Code

Compact SIP Software

TeleSoft International provides Embedded SIP source code software  to accelerate development and interoperability testing of your ISDN product. TeleSoft's SIP protocol stack  provides the fastest path to market-ready SIP products for manufacturers worldwide.

The small size of this SIP code allows fast downloads when used as a web based application, and the fast execution speed means that your device will not use as much power per call, so handheld devices get a longer battery life, and larger systems can service a higher number of calls per second.  Internet Phones (IPphones) do not require as much memory or processor, so you can save on component cost or add features.

TeleSoft International is a premier supplier of circuit switched telephony and VoIP code & solutions to leading OEMs worldwide. TeleSoft has been selected by more than 250 OEM customers and we continue to provide robust, mature, conformance and interoperability tested solutions to customers who require the best performing software stack solutions.

The TeleSoft CompactSIP User Agent SIP code offers highly optimized SIP software that combines a very small memory footprint with high performance and no compromises on functionality and scalability. CompactSIP is available as a SIP UA SDK in source code written in ‘C’ for ease of portation.

TeleSoft's CompactSIP User Agent SIP stack source code is ideal for applications such as Gateways, B2BUAs, and other large systems -- applications where fast execution and low per-call memory usage is paramount.  The CompactSIP software development toolkit is also appropriate for Voice & Video IP Phones, Mobile Handsets, PC Datacards and PDAs - applications where very small code sizes and high performance operations are top priorities.

Examples of Systems where the TeleSoft CompactSIP UA SIP protocol stack is best used:

bulletWired SIP Phones - The SIP stack's small code size and RAM requirements allow you to use less memory and a smaller processor.
bulletWireless SIP Phones - Power management is important in wireless devices because battery capacity may be limited.  The SIP SDK's low memory requirements mean that you can use smaller memory, and the quick execution time (i.e. low number of processor cycles) means that you will be able to increase the idle time (and put the processor into a power-saving state.)
bulletTerminal Adapters, Set-top Boxes, SOHO Routers with analog telephone adapters (ATAs) - These devices generally handle multiple calls, and usually have two, three or four POTS ports.  The TeleSoft SIP stack's small code size and fast execution time will allow you to add more functionality and reduce cost by using a slower processor and less memory.
bulletVoIP Gateways to the PSTN, B2BUAs, and other large systems - Both the smallest and the largest SIP gateways will benefit from the TeleSoft SIP stack.  The fast execution time of the Compact SIP software results in more calls per MIPS, or in lower power requirements for a given number of calls.  This translates into lower power requirements for your system, less heat generated by the processor, lower air conditioning requirements--in short, better NEBS performance.
bulletTeleSoft also offers TsGATE, an integrated SIP-PSTN gateway solution that combines the proven TeleSoft PRI & BRI ISDN, QSIG, T1 RBS and E1 R2 CAS software protocol stacks with CompactSIP.  TsGATE is an example of the ways in which we help our customers accelerate their software product developments while reducing costs and minimizing technical risks.

The TeleSoft SIP protocol stack may also be used on other devices, please call us to discuss your needs.

The TsLink3 ISDN software development toolkit is available in "C" source code and is architected for applications, both embedded and host-based, in which performance, code size, and per-dialog memory usage are important.

The CompactSIP User Agent software SIP stack is supplied pre-ported to choice of operating systems including Linux, VxWorks, Nucleus, ThreadX, Windows and other OSes and RTOSes.  If you select a different OS than one from the list above, one of the pre-ported OS interfaces can be used as a template to rapidly develop a new OS interface. TsLink3 customers have leveraged the OS-independent architecture to port to other operating systems including Solaris, Windows, and proprietary operating systems

Telecom and VoIP have needs that are different than data communications, and the industry is just realizing how different VoIP is from datacom.  For example, datacom uses either TCP or UDP.  TCP offers guaranteed delivery, but allows delivery to be greatly delayed, while UDP offers quick delivery but does not guarantee that the message will be delivered.  Voice protocols require both guaranteed delivery and quick delivery (this is one reason SCTP was developed.)  Telecom protocols are required to be robust, and if VoIP is to be widely accepted, it must be as robust as the existing PSTN.  Doesn't it make sense to license your Voice over IP (VoIP) signaling protocol from the voice experts?

TeleSoft International is the original developer of the TsLink3 range of high performance WAN protocols including SIP, ISDN BRI and PRI, QSIG, CAS E1 R2, T1 RBS, AO/DI, ML-PPP, Frame Relay, X.25, and also a range of hardware reference designs. TsLink3 protocol source code is exceedingly well engineered - tightly coded for performance and compact footprint, with a quality that delivers rock-solid stability.

TeleSoft's foundations go back to 1986 when the first ISDN stack was released. Since then TeleSoft's protocols have been proven in use by more than 200 customers worldwide. World leaders, including AT&T, Cisco, D-Link, Digital Equipment, Fujitsu, IBM, Lucent, Matsushita, Multi-Tech, NTT, Polycom, and Vertical Networks have all used the source code for  TeleSoft's proven protocol software.

Manufacturers license the source code for TeleSoft's proven Protocol Stacks and Reference Designs to get their products to market faster with minimized technical risk and development costs. TeleSoft focuses on developing the software and hardware so that you can focus on manufacturing and shipping your product.
